Anstey Nomads 0-5 Long Eaton United

A brace from James Taylor, Liam Loughlan and a single goal for James Shaw helped ensure Long Eaton keep their unbeaten streak as they completed a perfect month with five wins from their five games.
We finished the month with our five wins, but also 20 goals scored, three clean sheets and some red-hot form!
Our win today was our biggest away win in three years as we last recorded this scoreline against Eastwood FC on November 13th, 2021.
A game that was built up to be action packed and a real head-to-head was in truth just a rout as we dominated the game from the first whistle.
Today’s win leaves us in third place and four points above Worcester City.
Brad Munn named an unchanged side to the one that beat Bedworth United earlier in the week 3-1.
Lewis King reprised his role in the sticks, with the league’s favourite centre back partnership, Gianluca Bucci and Jayden Cotterill. Owen Betts took the right back position whilst Ryan Campbell-Gordon started on the left.
Callum Cocks was alongside captain Andrew Wright and Connor Pace in midfield.
The front three consisted of today’s goal scorers as Shaw was the central figure of the attack with Loughlan starting on the left and Taylor on the right.
The game started as expected with both sides throwing plenty of pressure at each other, however, it was the hosts who buckled as in the 12th minute, Pace played a ball across the face of goal giving Shaw an open goal.
The game carried on to provide entertainment as in the 27th minute, Pace had an effort blocked from inside the box, and four minutes later, King was called into action to deny James Tague with a good diving save.
Our lead doubled in the 34th minute as Loughlan picked up the ball and drove towards the box. He unleashed a beautiful strike which flew into the top right corner leaving the goalkeeper no chance.
We carried on our dominance as Taylor scored his first in the 39th minute. Loughlan produced some great footwork to keep the ball, and the reward was a ball through to Taylor who found himself in a 1v1. He remained calm and slotted the ball into the bottom left corner.
We found ourselves 3-0 up at half-time and the Blues were enjoying themselves.
The enjoyment kept flowing as Taylor bagged another in the 49th minute after Loughlan played him a ball across the face of goal, giving him a simple tap in into an empty goal.
The game began to fizzle as the three points were as good as confirmed for us, but we continued to have chances as in the 67th minute, Cocks had a free-kick fly just over the cross bar.
Loughlan grabbed a fifth in the second minute of injury time as he was played a ball across goal by Taylor. He simply could not miss. The goal wrapped up a five-star performance from everyone on and off the pitch.
Not only did our attack have a fantastic performance, but so did our defense and midfield as they remained solid and did not let the hosts have a sniff when it comes to concrete chances on goal.
Our next match is against Shepshed Dynamo at the Family Only Stadium on March 1. It is a 3:00pm kick off and we cannot wait to carry on this form!
COME ON YOU BLUES!!!
