Bedworth United vs Long Eaton United
Northern Premier League – Midlands Division
18/02/2025 – The Oval, Bedworth – 7:45 KO

It’s a game under the lights for the Blues this Tuesday as we travel to Bedworth United for the latest action in the Northern Premier League – Midlands Division.
After what was a cracking win and football match in general against Corby Town on Saturday, Long Eaton will be looking to go to Bedworth and secure all three points.
This fixture got called off just minutes before kick-off when we travelled down to the Oval on the 11th of January.
Three points is pure gold in this stage of the season.

How are Bedworth United doing?
Bedworth United are currently sat in 18th place in the league.
They have 26 points from 28 games with a goal difference of -15.
The Greenbacks have two games in hand on 19th placed Rugby Town, therefore every game now until the end of the season is crucial for Bedworth in their bid for survival.
Bedworth can prove to be a surprise package however after beating play-off chasers, Darlaston Town, 3-1 on the 9th of November 2024.
It was an impressive November for Bedworth as on the 23rd they went on to back the Darlaston win up with a 3-0 home win against Worcester City. They are currently third in the league table.
Bedworth were also involved in the potential game of the season when they lost 5-3 at home to Sporting Khalsa. Bedworth were winning the game in the 82nd minute however still proceeded to lose after goals in the 83rd, 95th and 97th minute of the match by Khalsa.

Current form for both sides:
The Blues are second in the form guide, claiming 13 points in our past 6 matches.
Brad Munn’s side is on fire!
The same cannot be said for Bedworth United however as they sit at the bottom of the form guide, earning just one point in their previous six games.
Long Eaton have won the past three games in the league, these coming against Corby Town, Loughborough Students and Boldmere St Michaels.
Our only loss in the last six came against Worcester City but a win against Quorn and a draw against Hinckley LRFC make up the Blues’ form.
Bedworth’s one point in six also came from a draw against Hinckley LRFC on the 1st of February.
Apart from that it is five losses making up the Greenbacks’ form which were against Boldmere St Michaels, Corby Town, Racing Club Warwick, Coventry Sphinx and Rugby Town.

Reverse Fixture:
Long Eaton faced Bedworth United on the 5th of October 2024 in the league and drew 2-2.
Bedworth travelled to the Family Only Stadium and Owen Betts welcomed them with a goal in the opening minute of the game.
Mitch Candlin equalised for the Greenbacks in the ninth minute before James Taylor scored in the 36th minute to retake the lead for the Blues.
All three points were heading our way until Elliot Parrott’s late goal in the 88th minute.
The points were shared.

Brad Munn speaks ahead of Bedworth United:
“We have to take everything that we do into this game. We are always front foot, we are always positive. We always try and do the right thing.”
“I want and need that on Tuesday night because I don’t think that game should have been called off when we went there before and now we have got to go there on a Tuesday night, so let’s go with a little bit of fire in our bellies.”
“Hopefully we can put together another good performance and keep a solid spot in the play-offs now.”

James Taylor shares his thoughts ahead of Tuesday night:
“It is a very important game on Tuesday night because that is our game in hand on a couple of teams above.”
“Clubs around us have dropped points so it was vital that we won on Saturday against play-off contenders.”
“We played them (Bedworth United) earlier on in the season, unfortunately we conceded a late goal, so it is a bit like Saturday where we are out for revenge.”
“I am looking forward to that game and hopefully if we play how we did on Saturday afternoon then we should take three points.”
