Quorn vs Long Eaton United
Northern Premier League – Midlands Division
04/01/2025 – The Stotto Stadium
Long Eaton United travel to the Stotto Stadium on Saturday afternoon to face league leaders Quorn.
The Blues will be playing with a ‘fire in their bellies’ after conceding a 90th minute equaliser to Hinckley LRFC on New Year’s Day.
Although only a point was awarded on Wednesday, the performance would say otherwise. There are plenty of positives for the boys to be taking away into tomorrow’s fixture.
The Reverse Fixture:
These two sides met on the 13th of August 2024 in the second game of the season.
The tie finished 1-1 at the Family Only Stadium at Grange Park with Paddy Webb scoring a 91st minute equaliser on the occasion to rescue a point for the Methodists.
Andrew Wright’s goal put the Blues in front in the 30th minute.
A close encounter between the two sides last time out and we should expect more of the same come tomorrow at 3:00pm.
Current Form:
Long Eaton have only lost once in their previous six league matches, that came against Loughborough Students on the 10th of December. The Blues are unbeaten since.
Draws against Lye Town, Sporting Khalsa and most recently Hinckley LRFC add three points to the season’s tally.
Alongside that, dominant wins against Wellingborough Town and Grantham Town have put Long Eaton fourth in the league table.
For the hosts, they are unbeaten in their last six. In fact, they are unbeaten in their last 22.
Their current form however, which is each sides previous six results, began with two draws against Lutterworth Town and Worcester City.
Then came four wins on the bounce. Coventry Sphinx, Sutton Coldfield Town, Shepshed Dynamo and Anstey Nomads all came out of their clashes with Quorn, defeated.
Brad Munn speaks on tomorrow’s fixture:
‘It does not scare me one bit. I think it is two good sides who will go up against each other’.
‘There will be no issue on surface or anything like that as they play on the 4G pitch.’
‘We had a really, really good game against them second game of the season at home.’
Munn speaks on the motivation going into this fixture after a disappointing draw against Hinckley LRFC: ‘It is one that we will go into hopefully for a lot of the boys with a lot of fire in their belly now, we have gone and dropped two points and I do not disrespect any other football clubs, I really don’t, but we dropped two points against Hinckley LRFC’
‘It is seriously frustrating so we are going to go into Saturday against the league leaders who are certainly high-flying but they are the sort of games I enjoy. I think it will be a good game of football, with two competitive footballing sides.’
‘May the best team come out on top.’, Munn finished with.
It is set to be a cracking, tight game of football, ladies and gentlemen.
Any away support, as any game, is largely appreciated!
You Blues!
