Grantham Town vs Long Eaton United
Northern Premier League – Midlands Division
26/12/2024 - South Kesteven Sports Stadium – 3pm kick off
It is the last game of the year for the Blues as we face Grantham Town at the South Kesteven Sports Stadium.
Long Eaton come into this game on a high after beating Wellingborough Town 4-2 on Saturday. We will look to end the year with three points.
The Blues currently sit sixth in the league table, with Thursday’s opponents sitting 21st and nine points away from safety. This is the first time the two sides have met each other in this season.
Current Form:
The Blues have registered just two wins away from home in their last six games in the league. Those wins came against Boldmere St Michaels on October 8th and Shepshed Dynamo on October 26th. The other four games have seen loses to Corby Town, Darlaston Town and Racing Club Warwick and a draw to Lye Town. Grantham Town come into this game having lost their last against Worcester City 5-0. The host’s last win came against Coventry Sphinx back in October 19th as they won 2-1 at home.
Aaron Cole looks ahead to the Grantham Town fixture:
“We are of the belief that when we turn up, our good is better than most, so all we need to do is turn up on the day. Hopefully the lads don’t have too big of a Christmas.”
Situation with Ryan Campbell-Gordon:
“I think it’s just a knock. In the warm-up, he’s clipped a ball, and he said he had a shooting pain through his ankle, and again, I think it is from the challenge on Tuesday (vs Sporting Khalsa). So, he thought he was okay, he did a little bit yesterday, but I don’t think it will keep him off for long.”
James Taylor looks ahead to the Grantham Town fixture:
“I think we can beat anyone on our day, you know, when we’re all at it together and I think there’s good morale in the group and hopefully we can pick up the three points.”
We hope to see many of you there with us in Grantham and cheering on the lads.
Come on you Blues!
