The forward completed the move to Grange Park on Thursday evening and joined up with the squad ahead of this weekend’s match away to Shildon AFC.
21-year-old Cursons joined NPL Premier Division side Gainsborough Trinity in January 2022 and made 29 appearances, scoring twice during his time at The Northolme.
Cursons will be a familiar name to many at Long Eaton United – the striker scored a late equaliser against The Blues in this season's Second Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup to force a replay.
Commenting on his appearance against United in the Cup, Cursons said: “The game and the replay were tough. There’s a few faces I recognise from the game, and yeah, it’s an exciting place to be.”
Focusing on his aims going forward, Cursons added: “Try and kick start the season now, make sure we are well clear of the wrong end of the table, and try to get a little bit of a run going before Christmas.”
Cursons is available for selection in this weekend’s trip to Shildon. “There’s definitely more local games in the league,” Cursons joked. “But I am feeling fit and ready.”
